Liam Payne just can’t stop teasing us about a potential One Direction reunion. But on Sunday afternoon, he basically confirmed that something is happening – or at least, we’re closer to something happening than we ever have been.
Fans have been speculating even more aggressively in the past few months, as we come up to the band’s 10th anniversary. There were rumours flying around that Liam, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan would be doing something special for the date. But fans have also been keeping a keen eye out and an ear to the ground for signs Zayn Malik would be joining in.
The most recent bean-spill came when Liam appeared on Instagram Life with Swedish DJ Alesso to talk about new music (the two recently released a collab, ‘Midnight’). Naturally, fans were only keen to ask him about his boyband alma mater, One Direction, and the likelihood of a reunion.
?@LiamPayne confirms a One Direction reunion is in the works, reveals @Louis_Tomlinson ‘told him off’ for saying too much:

Liam shared that he had been speaking to Niall recently on FaceTime and since “most of us re in London, we’ve ben trying to arrange the fist Group FaceTime with the boys at the moment.”
Could you imagine?
He added that he can’t say too much (despite basically saying everything) and that he’s already been in trouble from Louis for “revealing a bit of our plans the other day, so you’re [Alesso] going to have the group chat telling me off.”
Omg, there’s a group chat.
But he joked that Alesso could “come in and fill in for Zayn and join the band,” kind of confirming that the fifth-member wouldn’t make the reunion.
All The Signs That Point To A Reunion Happening V Soon
Naturally, die-hard fans as Directioners are have been on the hunt for hints that the band will be getting back together to celebrate their 10th anniversary. And, trust me, they’re a thorough bunch.

Fans noticed that one week before this Instagram Live the final four (Liam, Harry, Louis and Niall) as well as the official One Direction account each began following Zayn on Twitter Allagain. It’s the first time since his 2015 exit from the band.
Plus, others went sleuthing on Google, pointing out that Zayn was no longer listed as an “ex-member” of the band, and is now back being listed as “vocals”.

They’ve spotted that all five of the band’s albums are now available on Apple Music.
AND, the official One Direction website has been reactivated for the first time since the band Bega it’s hiatus in 2016.
All of that plus Liam’s incessant teasing and bean-spilling has set fans off.
